This medicine is used to relieve cough and phlegm symptoms associated with acute and chronic respiratory diseases, such as bronchitis, laryngitis, and nasopharyngitis. It is also effective for cough associated with epidemic colds in children. Therefore, this drug is used to improve cough and phlegm symptoms related to respiratory diseases.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Adults and those over 12 years old: 10 mL per dose, typically 3 times a day Adjust as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Children's dosage

Children (ages 3 to 12): 5 mL per dose, typically 3 times a day Adjust as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in certain patients. For example, those who are allergic to this drug, have ulcers in the stomach or duodenum, glaucoma patients, those with urinary obstruction symptoms such as benign prostatic hyperplasia, and those in premature or neonatal stages should not be administered. Furthermore, patients with excessively activated thyroid function, cardiovascular diseases, epilepsy, or bronchial diseases should use this drug with special caution. It is advisable not to administer it to newborns unless it is a severe condition. While taking this drug, gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, and diarrhea may occur infrequently, and allergic reactions such as skin rashes, itching, headaches, tinnitus, and bronchospasms may occur. It has also been rarely reported that heart rate increases or blood pressure rises. Rapid response is also necessary if symptoms of mental abnormalities or convulsions appear. This drug may cause drowsiness, so it is safer to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery while taking it. Care should also be taken as the ingredients in this drug can irritate the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. When taken with other medications, there may be interactions; thus, especially when used with oral antibiotics or central nervous system depressants, it is important to maintain a certain interval between dosages. Some medications may increase side effects when used concomitantly, so consulting with a healthcare professional is necessary. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use this drug with caution only when absolutely necessary, as its safety has not been sufficiently established.
