Effective in treating hypertension and hypercholesterolemia and reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases
This medication contains both Olmesartan Medoxomil and Rosuvastatin and is used for specific patients. Olmesartan Medoxomil helps in treating essential hypertension. Meanwhile, Rosuvastatin is used as an adjunct in patients with hypercholesterolemia and dyslipidemia when diet and exercise are insufficient. It also aids in the treatment of familial hypercholesterolemia or dysbetalipoproteinemia, reducing total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels, thereby delaying the progression of atherosclerosis. This medication is also used to reduce cardiovascular disease risk in men over 50 and women over 60 who are at high risk due to elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels, minimizing the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and arterial revascularization. Therefore, it is effective for managing blood pressure and cholesterol and reducing cardiovascular disease risk.
Olmesartan Medoxomil: The recommended initial dose is 10 mg once daily, taken regardless of meals. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to 20 mg once daily, with a maximum dose of 40 mg once daily. The antihypertensive effect usually appears within 2 weeks after starting treatment, with maximum effect observed around 8 weeks. This medication may be combined with thiazide diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide.
Olmesartan Medoxomil: Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age.
