This medication is prescribed for patients who need to use both olmesartan medoxomil and rosuvastatin together. Olmesartan medoxomil is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension, helping to lower blood pressure and maintain cardiovascular health. Rosuvastatin is used for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and various forms of dyslipidemia, serving as an adjunctive treatment when diet and exercise alone are insufficient. Additionally, rosuvastatin helps slow the progression of atherosclerosis and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In particular, it has been shown to reduce the risk of stroke, myocardial infarction, and revascularization procedures in high-risk patients with elevated high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and multiple risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. This medication improves cardiovascular health by managing both hypertension and hyperlipidemia simultaneously.
