Acute non-infectious conjunctivitis (swelling, vascular congestion) and allergic keratitis, non-infectious inflammation of the anterior segment (such as anterior uveitis), alleviation of post-surgical inflammation
This medication is used for acute non-infectious conjunctivitis accompanied by severe swelling and vascular congestion, as well as allergic keratitis. It is also effective in treating non-infectious inflammation of the anterior segment, such as anterior uveitis, scleritis, and episcleritis. It helps in alleviating inflammation that occurs after strabismus surgery, cataract, and glaucoma surgeries, promoting recovery. It is widely used for various types of ophthalmic inflammation.
Instill one drop into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times a day. In adults, for the first 24-48 hours, one drop may be instilled every hour.
This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to specific ingredients. It is advisable for pregnant or nursing women to avoid using this medication. Those with eye infections, glaucoma, or dry eye should also avoid this medication. It should be particularly avoided in patients with corneal damage or ulceration, or those with viral, bacterial, or fungal infections. This medication is not to be used in children under the age of 2. Individuals with circulatory issues or metabolic diseases should use this medication with caution. Those taking specific hypertension medications or antidepressants should also exercise caution. Those with a history of cataracts or herpes simplex virus infections should use this medication carefully. Caution is advised for those with atrophic rhinitis or in children and adolescents. Using this medication may cause temporary irritation to the eyes, but it does not interfere with treatment. Prolonged use may lead to increased intraocular pressure, requiring regular monitoring of eye pressure. Additionally, long-term use may result in allergic reactions such as ocular congestion or dermatitis. Due to the corticosteroid component, prolonged use may trigger cataracts or corneal damage. There is also a risk of fungal infections in eye tissues, so caution is necessary. Wound healing may be delayed, and serious side effects such as globe protrusion or corneal damage have been reported in rare cases. Especially in children, systemic side effects such as headaches or insomnia may occur. During treatment, it is advisable to avoid wearing soft contact lenses and not to use it for extended periods. If used for more than 2-3 days, regular monitoring of eye pressure, systemic side effects, and secondary infections should be conducted. If corneal ulcers persist, the possibility of fungal infection should be suspected. Caution is needed as this medication may mask or worsen symptoms of eye infections. After instillation, temporary blurred vision may occur, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Caution should be taken when used alongside medications that may raise blood pressure. Concurrent use with certain medications may increase the systemic exposure of this medication, elevating the risk of side effects. In such cases, careful consultation with a physician is required, and systemic side effects should be observed closely. The safety of this medication has not been sufficiently confirmed in children and adolescents, and systemic side effects may occur, so careful use is recommended. In cases of overdose, severe symptoms may present, and immediate consultation with a healthcare provider is necessary, as special treatment may be required. Prior to use, the medication should be well shaken and should only be used for ophthalmic purposes. When instilling, care should be taken to ensure the tip of the container does not touch the eye directly, and to avoid contamination, shared use should be avoided. When storing, place it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and keep it in a cool, dry place. Do not transfer to other containers to maintain the quality of the medication.
