How to take

Adult dose

The dosage is adjusted according to the level of pain and treatment response. An initial dose of 1 tablet is administered, with subsequent dosing intervals of at least 12 hours, and no more than 4 tablets per day. Long-term use beyond necessity is avoided, and regular monitoring is conducted for long-term use. For elderly patients (75 years and older), it is given at intervals of at least 12 hours.

Precautions

This medication can put a strain on the liver, so individuals who regularly consume three or more alcoholic drinks daily must consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. One of the components in this medication, acetaminophen, can rarely cause serious skin reactions, so if skin rash or allergy symptoms occur, immediate discontinuation is necessary. The tramadol component may increase the risk of seizures if taken in doses exceeding the recommended amount, and combining it with certain antidepressants or other central nervous system drugs can further increase this risk. There is a rare possibility of life-threatening acute allergic reactions occurring while taking this medication, so immediate medical attention should be sought if any unusual symptoms arise. Patients with severe asthma are at a greater risk of respiratory depression when taking this medication, so it must be administered in a healthcare setting with medical personnel present. Co-administration with alcohol or central nervous system depressants can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or comatose states; therefore, they should be avoided. Caution is needed when taking this medication if there is a head injury or increased intracranial pressure, as respiratory depression may exacerbate brain pressure. The tramadol component can lead to physical and psychological dependence, so long-term use should be guided by a physician. Patients with impaired liver function should consult a physician before taking this medication, as its components may strain the liver. Patients with certain genotypes may produce excessive active metabolites of this medication, increasing the risk of respiratory depression, hence they require extra caution. This medication should not be administered to children under 12 years of age or adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. This medication may sometimes lower sodium levels in the blood; therefore, especially for older individuals or those with related risk factors, blood tests should be conducted to monitor their condition. Patients having hypersensitivity to this medication or those with specific central nervous system drug toxicity, severe respiratory depression, and certain serious liver, kidney, or heart diseases must refrain from taking this medication. Pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult a physician before taking this medication, particularly during breastfeeding, as it may pose risks to the infant. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery, as this medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness.
