This medication is used for painful muscle spasms caused by musculoskeletal disorders, such as shoulder-hand syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It is also effective for rigidity paralysis caused by neurological disorders, assisting in the alleviation of various symptoms related to neurological damage, such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, postoperative complications, and head trauma. This drug alleviates muscle stiffness and reduces pain, contributing to the improvement of patients' daily lives. Therefore, it is widely used for the treatment of muscle stiffness and pain due to musculoskeletal and neurological issues.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 50mg of eperisone hydrochloride orally, three times a day after meals. Adjust as appropriate according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in specific patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients with allergies to this drug, those suffering from myasthenia gravis, or those with lactose intolerance or genetic lactose digestion issues. Patients with a history of drug allergies or liver function issues should be cautious when using this medication. This drug contains the dye Yellow No. 4, and caution is needed in patients with allergy to this ingredient. During the use of this drug, various side effects may occur infrequently, such as shock, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, and anemia, so symptoms should be closely monitored. Skin rashes, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, dyspepsia, urinary retention, and weakness can also occur; if any abnormal symptoms arise, one should consult a doctor immediately. Particularly serious skin reactions, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, may occur, so if symptoms such as fever, skin rash, blisters, or eye congestion appear, administration should be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be obtained. Drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur during the use of this drug, so it is advisable to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Moreover, interactions such as visual accommodation disorders may arise when used with similar medications; therefore, when taking other medications together, one must consult a healthcare provider or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this drug only when the benefits of treatment exceed the risks, as its safety has not been established. Nursing mothers should avoid administration if possible or cease breastfeeding while taking this drug. This drug has not been sufficiently confirmed for safety in children, so it should be used with caution.
