Precautions

This medication is a penicillin-based antibiotic and should not be administered to certain patients. First, individuals with a severe allergic reaction to this medication or similar class drugs should not use it. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia have a higher risk of developing rashes and should take caution. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction or jaundice due to this medication or penicillin class drugs are also at risk for recurrence and should not be treated. Patients with poor liver function may experience worsening liver conditions, so caution is advised. Patients with severe renal disease may retain the drug longer, leading to side effects and necessitating adjustments in dosing intervals. Individuals prone to allergies or those with asthma, skin rashes, etc., need to be cautious. Patients who cannot eat well, elderly patients, or those in poor general condition may develop vitamin K deficiency, so they should be monitored carefully. Moreover, patients with gastrointestinal diseases characterized by vomiting or diarrhea may not absorb the medication effectively, leading to reduced efficacy. When taking this medication, gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and loss of appetite may occur. In severe cases, serious issues such as pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis may arise, so patients should inform their physician immediately if diarrhea is severe or if abdominal pain persists. The liver may show temporary elevations in liver enzymes or rarely develop hepatitis or jaundice, particularly more frequently in males over 60 years old. Skin reactions may include itching, rashes, or serious skin reactions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome in severe cases; if any such symptoms develop, the medication should be discontinued. Various blood changes, such as leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia, have been reported rarely, and neurological effects may include headaches, dizziness, and seizures. Renal function abnormalities may also occur, requiring regular monitoring. This medication should be used only for the necessary minimal duration to prevent resistance, and individuals with a history of hypersensitivity should be particularly careful. Serious allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock may occur, so patients should be closely monitored after administration. If severe diarrhea or abdominal pain is experienced during or after antibiotic use, the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis should be considered, and medical personnel should be notified immediately. This medication may interact with other drugs, especially anticoagulants, certain antibiotics, anti-inflammatory agents, and immunosuppressants, so caution is necessary when taken together. Patients taking other medications should inform their doctor or pharmacist. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before using this medication, especially avoiding its use during the first three months of pregnancy. Nursing mothers should be cautious as the baby may experience diarrhea or allergic reactions. It is recommended to use this medication only for children aged 12 or older or weighing over 40 kg. Elderly individuals may experience side effects more easily due to decreased bodily functions, so dosing and intervals should be adjusted and used with caution. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms, renal dysfunction, and allergic reactions may occur, making it important to adhere to prescribed dosages and intervals. If overdose is suspected, seek medical attention immediately. Store this medication in a sealed container to prevent moisture. It should be stored in a cool, dry place at temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius to maintain efficacy.
