Prevention and treatment of folic acid deficiency and anemia (nutritional deficiency, pregnancy-related, etc.)
This medication is used for the prevention and treatment of folic acid deficiency. It helps particularly when dietary intake of folic acid is insufficient, especially in cases of wasting diseases or in pregnant and lactating women. It is also effective as adjunctive therapy for nutritional deficiency anemia excluding pernicious anemia and for pregnancy-related anemia, as well as for pediatric anemia. It is used for anemia associated with the administration of antiepileptic drugs and for macrocytic anemia related to alcoholism and liver disease. Overall, it aids in the improvement of various anemias and diseases related to folic acid deficiency.
For the treatment of folic acid deficiency or deficiency due to other medication administration, take 0.25 to 1 mg daily. For the prevention of folic acid deficiency and various diseases that increase folic acid requirements, take 0.1 to 0.25 mg daily.
Children over 24 months should take the same dosage as adults.

If symptoms such as rash, skin eruption, itching, generalized malaise, or difficulty breathing occur during use, discontinue immediately and consult a healthcare provider. Also, if loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, swelling, or weight loss occurs, contact a doctor or pharmacist immediately. High doses may lead to central nervous system side effects such as gastrointestinal disturbances, sleep changes, concentration deficits, hyperactivity, irritability, excitement, depression, confusion, and impaired judgment, so caution is necessary. This medication must be taken according to the prescribed dosage and administration, and when administered to children, supervision and guidance from a guardian is required. If symptoms do not improve or worsen after about a month of usage, a consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary.
