This medication is used to control blood pressure in hypertensive patients and alleviate symptoms of myocardial ischemia caused by stable angina due to fixed coronary occlusion and vasospastic angina.

How to take

Adult dose

As S-Amlodipine, take 2.5mg orally once daily, and can be increased to a maximum of 5mg daily depending on the patient's response. Take with adequate amounts of water.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by certain patients. For example, individuals who are allergic to this medication or similar components, pregnant or nursing women, patients with cardiac shock, severe aortic stenosis, unstable angina, patients who have recently experienced a myocardial infarction, and those with severe liver dysfunction or hypotension should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, those with acute heart failure, patients in hypertensive crisis, and those with slightly poor liver function should use this medication with caution. While taking this medication, side effects such as flushing, fatigue, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headache, nausea, drowsiness, and ankle edema may occur. Rarely, there could be a drop in blood pressure, skin rash, liver function abnormalities, and allergic reactions, so consult a doctor if any unusual symptoms appear. Discontinuing this medication abruptly can worsen symptoms, so the dosage should be gradually reduced under a doctor's guidance and should not be stopped arbitrarily. When taking this medication, it should be taken with sufficient water, and caution should be exercised when driving or operating hazardous machinery due to dizziness caused by blood pressure lowering. This medication may interact with other blood pressure medications or various drugs, so if you are currently taking other medications, be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist. In particular, it is advisable to avoid taking it with grapefruit juice, as it may increase the drug's effects. If you are pregnant or nursing, the safety of this medication has not been established, and it should be avoided; if nursing, breastfeeding should be suspended. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, heart irregularities, shock, etc. may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be transferred to other containers for safety. Elderly individuals may have higher drug concentrations in the body, so they should start with a lower dose and monitor their condition during use.
