Telmisartan Tablet 80 mg (Telmisartan)

Adult dose

Take 40 mg orally once a day with water, and it can be taken with or without food. Depending on the patient, 20 mg once a day may also be effective. If necessary, it can be increased to 80 mg once a day, and dosage increases will show maximum blood pressure-lowering efficacy within 4 to 8 weeks after the start of treatment. For the reduction of cardiovascular disease risk, take 80 mg once a day orally with water.

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and women who are breastfeeding should not take this medication. Patients with very poor liver function or problems with bile flow should not use this medication. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions should not take this medication. Caution is advised for the elderly, patients with hyperkalemia, patients with slightly reduced liver function, and patients with heart or kidney problems. Patients with heart or cerebrovascular diseases should be cautious as blood pressure may drop too low. Regular blood tests should be conducted to monitor kidney function and electrolyte levels during treatment. Be cautious when taking this medication in combination with other blood pressure-lowering drugs as there may be an increased risk of hypotension or worsening kidney function. Due to the risk of hyperkalemia, the use of potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics together is not recommended. This medication may cause dizziness or fainting while driving or operating machinery, thus caution is needed. It is not advisable to use this medication in children due to the lack of established safety and efficacy. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and acute kidney failure may occur, and immediate medical assistance should be sought. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept sealed until just before use.

Hives, severe swelling (including angioedema), chest discomfort, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe allergic reactions, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, severe skin abnormal reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory symptoms accompanied by cough and fever, respiratory issues, jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), extreme fatigue, liver abnormalities (jaundice),
