This medication provides appropriate treatment for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled despite combination therapy with amlodipine and olmesartan medoxomil. In such cases, additional medication adjustments or other treatment options may need to be considered. It is essential to treat essential hypertension with drugs that dilate blood vessels and lower blood pressure, and continuous blood pressure management is necessary. Consistent use combined with lifestyle improvements can aid in blood pressure control. This treatment is effective in reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease occurrences. It is used to improve blood pressure control in essential hypertension.
This medication should be taken once daily, with one tablet taken with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). Dosage is as follows: - 5/20/12.5 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a combination therapy of amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/20 mg. - 5/40/12.5 mg: For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a combination therapy of amlodipine/olmesartan medoxomil 5/40 mg.
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its administration is not recommended.
This drug may cause serious harm or even death to the fetus and newborn during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication or its components, certain heart diseases, kidney disorders, or liver disorders should not take this medication. Special caution is needed for patients with decreased blood volume or impaired kidney function, as hypotension or worsening kidney function may occur. Patients with liver disease or severe heart valve disease also require special caution when using this drug.
