Adult dose

Typically, the adult dosage is one sachet orally, three times a day after meals.

This drug should not be used in patients with congenital branched-chain amino acid metabolism disorders. If administered to such patients, there is a risk of serious side effects, such as seizures or respiratory distress. When using this drug, gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, abdominal discomfort, and vomiting may occur, so if these symptoms arise, it may be necessary to reduce the dosage or temporarily discontinue use. Additionally, it may affect kidney function, leading to an increase in BUN levels in blood tests, so in such cases, it is necessary to adjust or discontinue the dosage. Metabolic abnormalities may also cause an increase in blood ammonia levels, so caution should be exercised when using the drug if such changes occur. Side effects such as abnormal liver function, skin rash, lethargy, and edema have also been reported, so the patient's condition should be closely monitored. This drug should only be used in liver cirrhosis patients with hypoalbuminemia who meet certain conditions, and special precautions are necessary for patients with diabetes mellitus or hepatic encephalopathy. In cases of severe cirrhosis, for example, in patients with severe hepatic encephalopathy or high total bilirubin levels, its effectiveness is not expected, so it should not be used. Since this drug contains only branched-chain amino acids, it cannot provide all the necessary amino acids; therefore, patients should ensure sufficient intake of protein and calories according to their nutritional status. Overdosage can lead to increased blood BUN and ammonia levels, so dosage adjustment should be closely monitored, and prolonged overdosage may worsen nutritional status. If hypoalbuminemia does not improve after using it for more than 2 months, it is advisable to switch to other treatment methods. Elderly patients may have decreased physical functions, so this drug should be used cautiously considering the potential for metabolic abnormalities. The safety of this drug during pregnancy or lactation has not been established, so it should only be administered when the benefits outweigh the risks. Safety in children has not been confirmed, so it is advisable not to use it in pediatric populations. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, and avoid transferring it to other containers as it may deteriorate in quality.

Serious side effects

Edema (face, lower limbs, etc.) is classified as a serious symptom due to severe swelling or urinary abnormalities.
