Improvement of blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes
This medication is used to improve blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes. It is particularly given as an adjunctive treatment when blood sugar management with metformin or pioglitazone alone is insufficient. Additionally, it can replace the combination therapy with metformin and pioglitazone. By using it along with dietary and exercise therapy, the blood sugar control effect is enhanced, and weight loss and nutritional counseling should also be conducted. This integrated management plays a crucial role in maintaining the therapeutic effect in type 2 diabetes. Therefore, this medication is used to improve blood sugar control in type 2 diabetes.
The dosage of this medication should be individualized based on the efficacy and tolerability, not exceeding pioglitazone 30mg and metformin 2500mg. The initial dosage is based on the patient’s current treatment regimen, with monotherapy patients starting with 1 tablet daily, gradually adjusting the dosage based on therapeutic response. Patients transitioning from combination therapy may start with their existing doses. This medication is generally taken with meals.

Patients with active bladder cancer or a history of bladder cancer should not use this medication, and if bladder-related symptoms occur, immediate medical consultation is required. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take this medication, and its safety and efficacy have not been confirmed in children.
