This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms caused by chronic arterial occlusion, such as ulcers, pain, and coldness. It also has the effect of preventing recurrence after a cerebral infarction. Therefore, it helps relieve symptoms related to blood circulation disorders and prevent the recurrence of cerebrovascular diseases.
For cilostazol, the usual adult dose is 200 mg taken orally once a day. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.
This medication may increase heart rate, so symptoms of angina such as chest pain should be closely monitored. It should not be administered to patients with a risk of bleeding or those who have recently undergone bleeding disorders and surgeries. Patients with congestive heart failure, known allergy to this medication, and women who are pregnant or lactating should also avoid use. Patients taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet agents that increase the risk of bleeding, women during menstruation, and those with severe renal or liver failure should be administered with caution. Patients with diabetes or hypertension, or those with abnormal heart rhythms, also need to exercise caution.
