Improvement of chronic arterial occlusive disease (ulcer, pain) and prevention of cerebral infarction recurrence
This medication is used to improve ischemic symptoms such as ulcers, pain, and cold sensation caused by chronic arterial occlusive disease, and to prevent recurrence after cerebral infarction.
As cilostazol, the usual adult dosage is 200 mg orally once a day. This medication should be taken on an empty stomach, avoiding meals.
This medication may increase heart rate, so careful observation for symptoms of angina, such as chest pain, is required. This medication should not be used in patients at risk of bleeding, or those with hemophilia, intracranial hemorrhage, or gastrointestinal bleeding. It should also not be administered to patients with congestive heart failure, those who have had allergic reactions to this medication, or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet drugs, or thrombolytics, women who are menstruating, and patients with coronary artery stenosis should use this medication with caution. Patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, those with diabetes, uncontrolled hypertension, or cardiac arrhythmias also require caution. During the use of this medication, side effects such as headache, diarrhea, palpitations, joint pain, and chest discomfort may occur; if serious bleeding or blood irregularities occur, medical personnel should be informed immediately. Dizziness may occur during administration, so care should be taken when driving or operating machinery, and taking the medicine on an empty stomach is preferable as taking it with food may increase blood concentration and risk of side effects. Since this medication is metabolized in the liver, caution is advised for potential drug interactions that may increase blood concentration when taken with certain medications. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication, and breastfeeding should be discontinued if using this medicine. Safety for children or newborns has not been established, and elderly patients may require dosage adjustments due to decreased body function. In case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, diarrhea, hypotension, and tachycardia may occur, requiring immediate medical treatment.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest pain, atrial fibrillation, intracranial hemorrhage, pulmonary hemorrhage, bleeding tendency, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, aplastic anemia, interstitial pneumonia (fever, cough, shortness of breath, chest X-ray abnormalities), congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, angina, ventricular tachycardia, jaundice, headache (in severe cases may include altered consciousness, hemiplegia), syncope

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture, and kept at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way helps maintain the drug's efficacy.
