Relief of symptoms of knee osteoarthritis and shoulder periarthritis
This medication is used for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and shoulder periarthritis.
Generally, for adults, one syringe once a week should be administered into the knee joint or the shoulder joint continuously for three weeks. The frequency of administration should be adjusted according to symptoms.
This medicine should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to any of its components. Caution should be exercised when administering to patients with allergic reactions to other medications, those with liver function problems or a history of liver disease. Additionally, care should be taken when using this medication in areas with skin diseases or infections at the injection site. A serious allergic reaction such as shock may occur while using this medication; therefore, if symptoms appear, the administration must be stopped immediately, and appropriate treatment should be sought. If swelling around the face or eyes, rash, or itching occurs, use should be discontinued immediately, and treatment should be initiated. Temporary symptoms such as pain, swelling, redness, and warmth may occur at the injection site. Occasionally, symptoms like nausea, vomiting, and fever may also appear. In cases of severe joint inflammation, it is safer to first reduce the inflammation before using this medication. After the injection, stabilizing the injection site is recommended, and care must be taken to prevent leakage of the medication from the joint space. The injection must be performed in a sterile condition, and if there is no effect, it should only be administered up to three times, with no further usage. If there is a large amount of joint fluid, it may be necessary to drain the fluid before injection. This medication is not suitable for intravascular administration or for use in the eyes. A 22-23 gauge needle is recommended for injection. Care should be taken as some disinfectants may cause precipitation of the medication when used in conjunction. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks when using this medication, and it is recommended to avoid use during breastfeeding. Safety for pediatric use has not been established, so it should only be used cautiously when absolutely necessary. Elderly patients may have decreased physical function, so special care should be taken during use.
