Relief of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain
This medication is used to relieve acute and chronic pain ranging from moderate to severe.
The dosage for adults should be adjusted according to the patient's level of pain and response to treatment. Start with a dose of 2 tablets, with subsequent doses taken at intervals of at least 12 hours. Do not exceed a maximum of 8 tablets in one day. If long-term treatment is necessary, regular monitoring is recommended. For elderly patients, the usual adult dose should be administered, but for those over 75 years old, doses should be given at intervals of at least 12 hours.
This medication may burden the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three drinks a day must consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. This medication contains acetaminophen, which may rarely cause serious skin rashes or allergic reactions. If any unusual symptoms such as rash or itching occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. The tramadol component included in this medication may increase the risk of seizures if taken in excess of the recommended dosage. Special caution is required when taken with certain antidepressants or other opioid analgesics as it may increase the risk of seizures. Use of this medication may be risky for patients with severe respiratory diseases, and patients with severe asthma should only take it in a medically equipped place; alternative analgesics should be considered if there is a risk of respiratory depression. Taking this medication with central nervous system depressants or alcohol can lead to severe drowsiness, respiratory depression, or coma, so it should be used very cautiously in combination and only at the minimum dosage for a short period as directed by a physician. This medication may worsen symptoms in patients with brain injury or elevated intracranial pressure, so caution is necessary. This medication can cause psychological and physical dependence, so healthcare professionals should carefully monitor dependence when used for prolonged periods. Patients with impaired liver function must consult a doctor before taking this medication, as acetaminophen overdose can lead to liver damage. Patients with certain genetic characteristics, especially ultra-rapid metabolizers of CYP2D6, may experience stronger effects and side effects, thus consultation with a healthcare professional is recommended before use. It is safer not to use this medication in children under 12 years old and adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy. Electrolyte imbalances such as hyponatremia may occur during the use of this medication, so especially elderly patients or those with risk factors should be cautious of symptoms and require regular testing. This medication should not be administered to patients with specific conditions, such as severe respiratory depression, head injury, those currently taking MAO inhibitors, or those with severe liver or kidney dysfunction. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur during use, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery or engaging in potentially hazardous activities. In the case of overdose, severe symptoms such as respiratory depression, coma, and seizures may occur; immediate visit to an emergency medical facility is required, and treatment to prevent liver damage may be necessary. While taking this medication, it is important to avoid concomitant use with other analgesics or alcohol, and if any unusual symptoms occur during treatment, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
