This medication is used for the treatment of painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders and spastic paralysis caused by neurological conditions. It is particularly effective for alleviating symptoms such as shoulder-hand syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. Additionally, it helps improve muscle stiffness caused by various neurological diseases such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, and cerebral palsy. It can also be used for paralysis symptoms resulting from surgery or trauma, and has a positive effect on treating spinal and brain-related diseases. This drug is used to relieve muscle tension and reduce pain, assisting patients in their daily lives.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 50mg of eperisone hydrochloride orally three times a day after meals. Adjust dosage appropriately according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Firstly, it should not be administered to patients with allergic reactions to this drug or those with myasthenia gravis. Additionally, this medication contains lactose, thus it should not be used by patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption disorders. It should be used with caution in patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or impaired liver function, as there is a risk of worsening liver function. During the use of this medication, severe side effects such as shock, liver function abnormalities, kidney function abnormalities, and anemia may rarely occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored. Various side effects such as skin rash or itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, dyspepsia, urinary retention, etc., may also occur. In particular, symptoms of serious skin conditions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome may rarely appear, so if fever, erythema, blisters, itching, conjunctival injection, or stomatitis are observed, use should be discontinued immediately and a physician consulted. This medication may cause symptoms such as drowsiness, weakness, and staggering, therefore it is advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery. Additionally, caution is necessary when used with similar medications or certain muscle relaxants, as coordination disturbances may occur. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this drug if the benefits outweigh the risks, as safety has not been established, and breastfeeding should be avoided unless absolutely necessary when using this medication. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, and caution should be exercised when using this medication in elderly patients, as they may have impaired body functions.

Shock, liver abnormalities (increased ALT, AST, ALP), kidney abnormalities (proteinuria, increased BUN), anemia, anaphylactic reactions (severe allergic reactions), angioedema (severe swelling), toxic epidermal necrolysis and mucocutaneous ocular syndrome (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucosa.
