Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Precautions

This medication should not be used on wounds or mucous membranes. Care should be taken when using this medication in the presence of skin infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses, or animals, as it may worsen symptoms. Individuals with a history of allergy to this medication or its components, or those who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions should not use it. Patients with otitis externa who have a perforated eardrum should not use this medication as it may delay healing. Those with ulcers, severe burns, or frostbite should avoid using it, as skin regeneration may be inhibited, delaying healing. This medication should be avoided in cases of perioral dermatitis, acne vulgaris, or rosacea. Patients with a history of allergy to specific antibiotics should use this medication cautiously. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, and children should use this medication with caution, especially those with a known allergy to propylene glycol. There may be atypical reactions such as skin infections, irritation, rash, or itching while using this medication; if such symptoms occur, use should be stopped immediately and a specialist consulted. Prolonged use may result in side effects such as thinning of the skin or dilation of blood vessels, necessitating a reduction in the dosage or a switch to another medication. Caution should be exercised when using this medication over large areas for extended periods or when using occlusive dressings, as systemic side effects may occur. When used around the eyes, there is a risk of increased intraocular pressure or glaucoma; if visual disturbances such as blurred vision occur, immediate consultation with an ophthalmologist is required. Adhere to the prescribed dosage and frequency, especially in children, where use should be under the supervision of an adult. When symptoms improve, discontinue use as soon as possible; if symptoms do not improve or worsen, stop using the medication. Pregnant or nursing women should avoid using this medication or, if necessary, use it for a short period over a small area. Children are at a higher risk for side effects compared to adults, so caution is especially advised; care should be taken in areas covered by diapers as there may be an occlusive dressing effect. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water and seek ophthalmological care if symptoms are severe.
