This medication helps effectively lower cholesterol and lipid levels in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. It is primarily used to reduce LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol, and to increase HDL cholesterol, which reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It is administered in conjunction with dietary control and can be used as an adjunctive treatment for patients who do not respond adequately to other lipid-lowering therapies. This medication is also used as part of a careful treatment plan to manage the risk of atherosclerotic vascular disease in these patients. If necessary, it diagnoses and manages secondary causes to enhance treatment efficacy. This medication is used to improve hypercholesterolemia.
