Improvement of estrogen deficiency symptoms and prevention of osteoporosis
This medication helps alleviate various symptoms caused by estrogen deficiency that may occur in women one year after menopause. Additionally, it is used to reduce the risk of fractures in postmenopausal women who need osteoporosis prevention and for whom other treatments are not suitable. Therefore, this medication effectively improves the health of postmenopausal women and helps maintain bone strength.
This medication is taken as one tablet daily at the same time each day. The tablets should be taken with water or other beverages, and it is recommended to take them at the same time daily. Dose adjustment is not necessary in the elderly.
This medication should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. If a pregnant woman becomes pregnant while taking this medication, treatment should be immediately discontinued, and there is insufficient data on safety during exposure in pregnancy. It should not be administered to patients with or suspected of having breast cancer, or those with a history of breast cancer. This medication may increase the risk of breast cancer recurrence. It should also not be used in patients with or suspected of having estrogen-dependent malignant tumors, such as endometrial cancer. Patients with unexplained vaginal bleeding or untreated endometrial hyperplasia should not use this medication. Patients with a history or current incidence of venous thromboembolism (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), those with high risk of thrombosis, or with a history of arterial thromboembolism (angina, myocardial infarction, stroke) should not be treated with this medication. Patients with acute liver dysfunction or a history of liver disease that has not returned to normal should not use this medication. Patients with allergies to this medication or its excipients, porphyria patients, and those with lactose intolerance or certain genetic metabolic disorders should not receive this treatment. When administering this medication, if symptoms such as liver dysfunction, elevated blood pressure, or migraines appear, treatment should be stopped immediately. Patients with conditions or a history of smooth muscle tumors, endometriosis, hypertension, diabetes, migraines, systemic lupus erythematosus, endometrial hyperplasia, epilepsy, asthma, or fibrous dysplasia should be monitored closely. During treatment with this medication, various side effects such as breast pain, vaginal bleeding, weight gain, skin changes, and gastrointestinal disturbances may appear; therefore, patients should consult a doctor if abnormal symptoms occur. This medication may increase the risk of breast cancer, endometrial cancer, stroke, venous thromboembolism, coronary artery disease, and ovarian cancer, and should be administered cautiously after careful assessment of these risks in women over 60 years of age. Regular examinations and monitoring through personal and family history, physical examinations (including pelvic and breast examinations), and imaging tests are necessary before treatment initiation and during treatment. This medication can enhance the effects of anticoagulants when taken concurrently, so dosage adjustments and caution are necessary when taken together. In the event of overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and vaginal bleeding may occur; no specific antidote exists, so treatment should be symptomatic. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in its original packaging. Finally, this medication should not be used for contraceptive purposes, and should be used cautiously in patients with poor cardiac or renal function.
