Treatment and prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis
This medication is used to treat and prevent osteoporosis that may occur in postmenopausal women. Osteoporosis is a condition that increases the risk of bones becoming weak and breaking easily, and it commonly occurs in women who have reached menopause. Therefore, this drug helps improve bone density and maintain bone health, reducing the risk of fractures. Regular use can improve bone strength, assisting in the maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.
Take 60 mg orally once daily as Raloxifene Hydrochloride.
This drug is a medication used for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. When taking this medication, the risk of blood clots may increase, so patients with a history or high risk of thrombosis should use it cautiously. Patients with liver function issues may have increased levels of this medication, and regular liver function tests and consultation with a physician are necessary. Women who are premenopausal, pregnant, or nursing should not take this medication, and women who may become pregnant should also avoid it. This drug is not used for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and caution is advised when administering it to patients at high risk for heart disease. Co-administration with other hormonal agents, particularly systemic estrogens, is not recommended. If unexpected uterine bleeding occurs while taking this medication, immediate medical attention is required, and any abnormal symptoms in the breast should be evaluated. This medication may cause side effects such as facial flushing from vasodilation, leg cramps, cold symptoms, peripheral edema, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion, elevated blood pressure, migraines, rashes, breast symptoms (pain, swelling, tenderness), vaginal bleeding, itching, palpitations, fever, weakness, sweating, muscle pain, insomnia, perineal pain, weight gain, arthralgia, rheumatologic-like symptoms, pain, fatigue, discomfort, chest tightness, skin lesions, anxiety, weight loss, convulsions, visual disturbances, and taste disturbances. If symptoms of thrombosis or severe side effects are suspected, immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication may require supplementation if there is a deficiency in calcium and vitamin D, and it is recommended to improve smoking or drinking habits. This drug is not for use in children or men, and elderly patients should be particularly cautious when using it. Overdose may cause leg cramps or dizziness, so it is important to adhere to the prescribed dose. There may be interactions with other medications, so inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medications. This medication should be stored out of reach of children, and it is safe not to transfer it to another container.
