Topical treatment of comedonal, papular, and pustular acne
This medication is used for the topical treatment of comedonal, papular, and pustular acne appearing on the face in patients aged 9 years and older.
Clean and dry the affected area, then apply evenly to the entire acne-affected area once daily in the evening. When applying, use the fingertips to apply thinly, avoiding the eyes and lips. If skin irritation occurs, use a non-irritating moisturizer or reduce the frequency of application (e.g., once every two days) or discontinue treatment temporarily or permanently. The treatment duration should be determined based on the physician's diagnosis, typically showing clinical improvement 1 to 4 weeks after starting treatment.
This medication should not be used if there are sunburns. It should not be used by individuals allergic to this medication or any of its components. Avoid using on damaged skin, sunburned areas, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, or severe acne. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use this medication. This medication contains propylene glycol, so individuals allergic or sensitive to this compound should use it with caution. Individuals exposed to a lot of sunlight or those who are sensitive to sunlight should be careful as skin irritation may occur. The treated area may experience symptoms such as skin dryness, irritation, burning sensation, redness, peeling skin, etc. Rarely, side effects such as itching or sunburn may occur, and if severe allergic reactions are observed, immediately discontinue use and consult a physician. During the first week, skin irritation may be severe but tends to improve over time. Increasing the dosage may not lead to faster results but could exacerbate skin irritation, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage. If hypersensitivity symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately. Take caution to avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet rays, and if exposure is unavoidable, use sunscreen or protective clothing such as hats. Irritation can also occur on windy days or in cold weather, so be vigilant. Care should be taken as this medication may bleach hair or colored fabrics upon contact. Avoid depilatory methods that may irritate the skin such as electrolysis, waxing, or chemical depilatories in treated areas. Using this medication in conjunction with other retinoid medications or benzoyl peroxide, as well as irritating cosmetics, may lead to increased skin irritation. Do not use this medication during pregnancy, and if pregnancy is confirmed, discontinue use immediately. Women who are breastfeeding should avoid applying this medication to the breast area. Children under 9 years old should not use this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established. If an overdose occurs, seek appropriate treatment at a hospital immediately. Avoid contact with mucous membranes such as the eyes, nose, and mouth; if the medication gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. This medication is for external use only and should be kept out of reach of children. Transferring to another container may alter the quality, so it is recommended to keep it in the original container.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a light-resistant container. Additionally, it is important to store it in a cool place below 25 degrees Celsius to maintain its effectiveness.
