This medication is used to treat skin infections caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis, and Epidermophyton floccosum, particularly for tinea pedis in adolescents and adults over the age of 15.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Apply this medication only once. Before application, wash the affected area thoroughly and dry it completely. Apply a sufficient amount to adequately wet the affected area and surrounding skin. For complete treatment of the fungus, apply to both feet even if no lesions are present on one side. Spread a thin layer of this medication between the toes and apply to the entire sole and up to approximately 1.5 cm above the sole. Allow to dry for 1-2 minutes.

Precautions

This medicine is a topical solution containing terbinafine hydrochloride and is used for treating fungal infections. This medication should not be used by individuals with hypersensitivity to the ingredient, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children under 15 years of age. While using this medication, skin reactions such as rash, redness, itching, irritation, contact dermatitis, peeling skin, stinging pain, or burning sensations may occur. If such symptoms arise, immediately discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. It is also important to stop using the medication and consult a doctor or pharmacist if excessive irritation occurs or if symptoms worsen. Unless directed by a physician, do not cover the medication with a sealed bandage or wrapping method. If there is no reaction to this medication, it should be confirmed whether a fungal infection is present and alternative treatments should be considered. The alcohol component may cause skin irritation, so caution is advised when applying to infants or mucosal areas. When using on wound sites or large areas of skin, or on infants, the medication may be absorbed into the body and could have systemic effects, so care must be taken. Pregnant women should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment are considered to outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Breastfeeding women should discontinue breastfeeding as the medication may be excreted in breast milk. Individuals with a history of allergic reactions to propylene glycol should use this medication with caution. If this medication is accidentally ingested, immediate emergency treatment such as gastric lavage should be sought. This medication should only be used topically and care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately. Do not use on nails, scalp, around the mouth, or vaginal areas, and be cautious when applying on skin with cracks or abrasions as it may cause irritation. Lastly, store this medication out of reach of children, at temperatures between 15 degrees and 30 degrees.
