Adult dose

This medication is administered once daily regardless of meals. For primary hypercholesterolemia, the dosage range is 10/5 mg to 10/20 mg daily. A starting dose of 10/5 mg daily is recommended. In patients requiring more significant reduction in LDL cholesterol, the dose may be adjusted. After starting treatment or adjusting the dose, check serum lipid levels at intervals of at least 4 weeks, with a maximum daily dosage.

This medication may affect muscles; if symptoms such as muscle pain, muscle cramps, or muscle weakness occur, consult a physician immediately. This medication may affect liver function; therefore, liver function tests should be performed before taking it, and if any signs of liver damage occur during use, tests should be repeated. This medication is not to be administered to patients with certain liver diseases or severely impaired kidney function. Women who are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding should avoid this medication, and if taking it, appropriate contraception should be used. Patients with a history of excessive alcohol consumption or liver disease should use this medication cautiously, following medical advice. This medication may interact with other drugs, so inform a doctor or pharmacist about any medications currently being taken. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been fully established in children and the elderly, so special caution is required. In case of overdose, treatment should be administered based on symptoms, and liver function and muscle-related tests should be carried out. During the use of this medication, dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. This medication may cause severe skin reactions or serious muscle weakness; if a rash or severe muscle weakness occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult healthcare personnel.

Serious side effects

Urticaria, facial swelling, chest tightness, cold sweats, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), renal dysfunction, renal failure, acute renal failure, increased serum creatinine, thrombocytopenia, jaundice, acute hepatitis, toxic hepatitis, severe edema, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions, severe edema or urinary abnormalities, dyspnea, asthma attacks, cough and fever.

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly closed container. It is recommended to maintain storage temperatures between 1°C and 30°C.
