Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to certain components, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients who genetically cannot digest certain sugars. Patients with heart disease or a history of peptic ulcers, as well as those with a history of asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease, should use this medication with caution. This medication can cause various side effects, including cardiac problems, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver dysfunction, and neurological abnormal symptoms, so any unusual symptoms should be consulted with a doctor immediately. Although used for dementia treatment, it is not approved for other forms of dementia or memory decline, and the treatment effect should be regularly evaluated. This medication can slow heartbeats or cause arrhythmias, so patients with heart diseases may need an electrocardiogram. As it can irritate the digestive tract and worsen peptic ulcer symptoms, caution is needed for patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. Dizziness or fatigue may occur when driving or operating machinery, especially when starting the medication or changing the dosage. The efficacy may change when taken with other medications, so patients should definitely inform their doctor or pharmacist about other medications they are taking. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid this medication, and if necessary, follow the guidance of a healthcare professional. Overdosage may lead to serious symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, cardiac irregularities, and respiratory distress, so dosage must be strictly adhered to, and if overdose is suspected, medical attention should be sought immediately. The safety of this medication has not been established for children, so it should not be used in pediatric patients.
