This medication is used for initial treatment in patients with essential hypertension where blood pressure control is difficult with either amlodipine or losartan monotherapy, and in patients with stage 2 hypertension who require combination therapy to reach the treatment target blood pressure.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of mealtime. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). Typically, this medication 5/50 milligrams is administered once daily, and if blood pressure is not adequately controlled after two weeks, it may be increased to 10/50 milligrams once daily.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this drug in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so if pregnancy is confirmed, it should be discontinued immediately. Care must be taken during the first trimester of pregnancy, and women who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication. Patients with low blood volume or those on diuretics should stabilize their condition before taking this medication and be cautious to avoid symptoms of hypotension. It should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of the ingredients or have severe liver disease, aortic stenosis, or are in shock.
