Treatment of respiratory (bronchitis, pneumonia) and genitourinary (cystitis, gonorrhea) infections
This medication is effective against various bacterial infections. It is primarily used for treating respiratory infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, lobar and bronchial pneumonia, and also improves empyema, lung abscess, tonsillitis, sinusitis, and otitis media. It also helps treat genitourinary infections such as cystitis, urethritis, and pyelonephritis, as well as pelvic infections and sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea. It is used for carbuncles, abscesses, soft tissue infections, wound infections, as well as osteomyelitis and dental infections. It is effective in treating various types of infections by responding to different bacteria.
For recurrent tonsillitis and other upper respiratory infections, lower respiratory infections, urinary infections, and mild to moderate skin and soft tissue infections, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid potassium is administered at 25 mg/3.6 mg per kg body weight divided into two doses. For more severe infections such as otitis media and sinusitis, and lower respiratory infections such as bronchial pneumonia and urinary infections, amoxicillin/clavulanic acid potassium is administered at 45 mg/6.4 mg per kg body weight.
The 7:1 syrup is not suitable for children under 2 months old. Pediatric patients with renal insufficiency are not suitable for the 7:1 syrup.
This medication is a beta-lactam antibiotic belonging to the penicillin class and should not be administered to certain patients. For example, it may cause severe allergic reactions in patients who have had hypersensitivity to the ingredients of this medication or other beta-lactam drugs. Additionally, patients with viral infections such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may have an increased risk of rash. Patients with a history of liver dysfunction should also avoid this medication as it may cause a recurrence of liver damage. Patients with liver disease should use this medication carefully as liver function may worsen. Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment should adjust the dosing interval to reduce the risk of increased drug concentration and side effects. Patients with allergic tendencies or severe gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea may also experience unstable drug absorption, warranting caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur with this medication, and serious side effects such as pseudomembranous colitis or acute pancreatitis may rarely develop. Liver enzymes may rise, or cholestatic jaundice may appear, especially reported more frequently in the elderly and males. Serious skin reactions such as rash, urticaria, or in severe cases, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome may occur, and if any unusual symptoms arise, immediate discontinuation of the medication and consultation with a physician are necessary. Abnormalities in blood tests such as leukopenia or thrombocytopenia may rarely occur, and rare neurological side effects such as headaches, dizziness, and seizures have been reported. Regular monitoring is important due to the potential sharp decline in kidney function. Long-term use of this medication may lead to the development of resistant bacteria, so it is advisable to use it for only the necessary minimum duration. Due to the possibility of severe allergic reactions, patients must be closely monitored after administration to be prepared for emergencies such as anaphylactic shock. Women in early pregnancy or pregnant must consult a physician before using this medication, and those who are breastfeeding should also be cautious as it may affect the infant. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if there are any medications currently being taken, they must be disclosed, especially with anticoagulants, probenecid, and allopurinol. Before taking, shake the medication well, and after preparation, store it in the refrigerator and use it within 7 days for safety. In case of overdose, gastrointestinal symptoms and central nervous system disturbances may occur, requiring immediate contact with a medical institution.
Urticaria, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe allergic reactions, high fever with severe rash, blisters, skin peeling, pain of oral/ocular mucosa, severe dermatologic reactions, asthma attacks, respiratory issues accompanied by coughing and fever, respiratory problems, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe and sudden headaches, and lightning-like pain

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect it from air and moisture. A cool, dry place below 25 degrees Celsius is suitable for storage. Proper storage will help maintain the medication's effectiveness for a long time.
