This medicine is used to relieve various symptoms of the cold, including sore throat, cough, phlegm, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, and muscle pain.

How to take

Adult dose

Typically, adults take 1 pouch (single dose) three times a day, 30 minutes after meals.

Precautions

This medication may burden the liver, so individuals who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a day should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. The acetaminophen component included in this drug may rarely cause severe skin reactions, so if a rash or allergic symptoms appear after taking it, stop taking it immediately and consult a medical expert. The maximum daily dose of acetaminophen should not exceed 4,000mg, and it should not be taken with other medications containing acetaminophen. Individuals with allergies to this medication or its components, or those who have experienced allergic reactions in the past, as well as those who have had asthma triggered, should not take it. Infants under 3 months of age should not take this medication, and individuals currently taking or who have recently stopped MAO inhibitors, such as certain antidepressants or antipsychotics within two weeks, should avoid taking it. During the use of this medication, it is advisable to avoid taking other medicines that include cough or cold medications, antipyretics, sedatives, and antihistamines. In particular, children who have or are suspected of having chickenpox or influenza, individuals with allergic predispositions, and those with various conditions involving the liver, kidneys, heart, etc. should consult a professional before taking this medication. It is also advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women to consult a doctor before use. If symptoms such as rash, itching, vomiting, or dizziness occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult healthcare professionals, especially if severe allergic reactions or liver dysfunction symptoms arise, as prompt action may be required. It should be used in children under 2 years of age only in exceptional cases. When taking this medication, strictly adhere to the prescribed dosage and frequency, avoid prolonged use, and refrain from alcohol consumption. In addition, caution is needed when taking it with certain diuretics or products containing licorice due to the potential risk of side effects. Rarely, metabolic acidosis may occur when this medication is combined with certain antibiotics, so patients with underlying conditions should exercise additional caution. Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, cold sweat, pallor, difficulty breathing → shock (anaphylaxis) symptoms
  • Severe rash with high fever, blistering, peeling skin, pain in oral and ocular mucosa → Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis
  • Difficulty in breathing or wheezing, cough with fever → interstitial pneumonia
  • Skin or eyes turning yellow (jaundice), extreme lethargy →

Mild side effects

Rash/redness (hyperemia), itching, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite, constipation, swelling (edema), dizziness, high-anion gap metabolic acidosis (HAGMA)

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with cough suppressants, other cold medicines, antipyretics, sedatives, or antihistamines. Do not use when taking MAO inhibitors (antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, Parkinson's disease medications, etc.) or within two weeks after stopping them. Avoid taking barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, alcohol, potassium-containing agents, licorice-containing agents, glycyrrhizin or its salts.

Storage

This medication can be sensitive to air and moisture, so it should be stored in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid storing the medication in excessively hot or cold environments and to keep it at a temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius, which is generally room temperature.
