Furthermore, hypersensitivity reactions such as cardiovascular collapse, angioedema, breathing difficulties, rash, and itching may occur, so if any of these symptoms appear, discontinue the medication. Temporary symptoms such as burning sensation, irritation, redness, itching, tearing, dryness, and blurred vision may occur in the eye, and rarely severe skin reactions like keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may occur; if these symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately. Occasionally, reports of hearing impairment or irritation symptoms have been noted, so caution is required. Long-term use of this medication may result in the emergence of resistant bacteria or fungal infections, so it should be used only for the necessary minimum duration, and in the case of superinfection, a change in treatment is required. Effectiveness against infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has not been confirmed, so if symptoms do not improve, it should be switched to another antibiotic. Additionally, during the use of this medication, inflammation or rupture of tendons such as in the shoulder, hand, or Achilles tendon has been reported, particularly in the elderly or when used alongside corticosteroids; if pain or inflammation occurs, discontinue administration immediately. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this medication when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks as its safety has not been established. If breastfeeding, either discontinue breastfeeding or stop taking the medication. The safety and effectiveness of this medication have not been confirmed in infants under 1 year of age, so it is advisable not to use it in this population. This medication is for ocular use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact between the tip of the container and the eye during administration.
