This medicine is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure cannot be adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil, thereby treating hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medicine is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). The recommended doses are as follows: - 5/20 mg: Given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on monotherapy with amlodipine 5 mg or olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg. - 10/20 mg: Given to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on monotherapy with olmesartan medoxomil 20 mg.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Do not take this medicine if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function, severe aortic stenosis, biliary obstruction, patients undergoing renal dialysis, patients in shock, or patients with certain types of diabetes should not take this medicine. Patients with genetic issues such as lactose intolerance should also not take this medicine. Careful monitoring of low blood pressure symptoms is needed when starting this medication in patients with low fluid or salt levels. The medicine may cause vasodilation leading to hypotension, particularly in patients with severe aortic stenosis. Patients with severe coronary artery disease or congestive heart failure may experience worsening of their heart condition, so caution is advised while taking this medicine. Patients with reduced kidney function may have an increased risk of further deterioration of kidney function while taking this medicine. For patients with impaired liver function, metabolism of this medicine may be slowed, therefore caution should be taken when administering. This medicine may cause various side effects including dizziness, headache, hypotension, edema, indigestion, skin rash, etc., so if symptoms are severe, consult a healthcare professional. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid taking this medicine due to risks to the fetus or infant, or consult a doctor. This medicine is not recommended for children under 18 as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients should carefully adjust the dosage considering the possibility of reduced kidney and liver function. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, vasodilation, tachycardia, etc. may occur, and immediate medical attention is needed. This medicine should be stored in a closed container away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, out of reach of children.

  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy → liver problems (jaundice)
