Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or any of its components. Rarely, this medication may cause neurological symptoms such as headache, dizziness, and taste disturbances. Symptoms such as punctate keratitis, ocular pain, dryness, itching, and redness may occasionally occur, and caution is advised. Symptoms like nasal dryness, rhinitis, dry mouth, contact dermatitis, and fatigue may also rarely appear. After using this medication, the eyes may become overly sensitive, and it has been reported that sometimes weakness, cold symptoms, nausea, pharyngitis, abdominal pain, abnormal liver function, and increased blood pressure occur. Increased tear secretion may also be observed. This medication contains phosphates, so care should be taken as corneal calcification may rarely occur in patients with severe corneal damage. After instilling the drops, vision may be temporarily blurred, so one should wait until vision clears before driving or operating machinery. Patients undergoing long-term steroid treatment should gradually reduce the steroid dose under medical supervision when using this medication. Patients with seasonal allergies are advised to start using this medication before symptoms begin and continue until symptoms cease. If there is no effect, care should be taken not to use it for an extended period. The benzalkonium chloride included in this medication may cause eye irritation or discoloration of contact lenses, so contact lenses should not be worn for at least 15 minutes after administration of this medication. It is advisable to avoid wearing contact lenses when the eyes are red. This medication is intended solely for instillation in the eyes and should not be used by injection or orally. Care should be taken to keep the tip of the container clean and avoid contact with the eyes or hands, and the cap should be closed immediately after use. When using with other eye drops, they should be spaced at least 5 minutes apart, and ointments should be applied last. Keep out of reach of children and store in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Pregnant or nursing women should consult a physician before using this medication and carefully consider the effects on the fetus or infant. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children younger than 3 years, so its use is not recommended. No special dosage adjustment is needed for elderly patients. If this medication is overdosed, immediate observation and treatment by healthcare professionals are required.
