Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to quinolone antibiotics. While using, rare instances of shock symptoms such as nausea, limb coldness, and respiratory distress may occur, requiring immediate cessation of use and appropriate treatment. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, respiratory distress, skin rash, or itching arise, treatment must be stopped. Temporary symptoms such as eye irritation, burning sensation, discomfort, redness, itching, conjunctivitis, keratitis, swelling, blurred vision, tearing, dryness, and ocular pain may occur, requiring cessation of use if such symptoms appear. There may also be risks of hearing impairment or irritative symptoms, so caution is necessary. Prolonged use of this medication may lead to excessive growth of non-sensitive bacteria or fungi, hence it should only be used for the minimum necessary duration, and alternate treatment is recommended in the case of secondary infections. Especially in elderly patients or when used with corticosteroids, the risk of tendon rupture in areas such as the shoulders, hands, and Achilles tendons is increased, requiring immediate cessation of treatment in the event of pain or inflammation. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use caution when administering this medication, employing it only when the benefits outweigh the risks. Nursing mothers should either discontinue breastfeeding or stop the medication when using this product. Its safety and efficacy in infants under 1 year have not been established, so its use is not recommended. This medication is an eye drop intended for ocular use only, and care should be taken to avoid contact of the tip of the container with the eye. To prevent contamination, it is advisable to use this product only for personal use and avoid sharing it. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool place. Additionally, to maintain quality, it should not be transferred to another container.
