This medication is used for the treatment of vertigo, which includes vertigo associated with Meniere's disease and vertebrobasilar insufficiency.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Take 1 tablet, three times a day after meals. In the initial treatment or severe cases, the dosage may be increased up to 5 tablets per day.

Children's dosage

Children over 12 years should follow the same dosage as adults.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, patients who have had allergic reactions to the ingredients of this medication or similar antihistamines should not use it. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should also avoid taking this medication. Additionally, patients with angle-closure glaucoma, those who frequently experience seizures, patients with increased intracranial pressure, those with urinary retention issues, excessive alcohol consumers, and those suspected of having brain pressure should also avoid this medication. There are patients who require caution when using this medication. Patients with low blood pressure, benign prostatic hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, heart disease, increased eye pressure, gastrointestinal obstruction, etc., should use this medication cautiously as side effects may worsen. Patients with Parkinson's disease and those with impaired kidney or liver function also need to be careful while taking this medication. This medication may cause neurological side effects such as drowsiness, headache, increased sweating, and movement disorders. Rapid heartbeat may also occur rarely, and gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, dyspepsia, constipation, and weight gain may arise. In very rare cases, a decrease in blood cell count, jaundice, chest tightness, visual disturbances, worsening of glaucoma, increased sensitivity to light, allergic reactions, and skin conditions may occur. This medication can cause drowsiness, so it is safest to avoid driving or operating machinery while taking it. To reduce gastrointestinal disturbances, it is best to take this medication after meals. Taking this medication with alcohol or some sedatives, opioid analgesics may enhance central nervous system depressant effects. Moreover, it should be noted that concurrent use with certain antidepressants or anticholinergic drugs may enhance its effects. It is essential to inform the doctor about any antibiotics being taken, as this medication may mask some antibiotic side effects. The safety of this medication has not been established for pregnant women, and it is advisable for breastfeeding women to avoid it as the components can be excreted into breast milk. This medication is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. In case of overdose, symptoms may include dry mouth, facial flushing, dilated pupils, rapid heartbeat, fever, difficulty urinating, drowsiness, dizziness, and movement disorders. In severe cases, seizures, hallucinations, agitation, respiratory depression, hypertension, tremors, and coma may occur, requiring immediate medical attention. Gastric lavage and supportive treatment may be necessary in case of overdose, and a child's temperature should be carefully monitored. If seizures occur, specific medications can be used to control the symptoms. The components of this medication can be removed by dialysis, but some components may not be effective; thus, consulting a specialist is recommended.
