This medication is used to prevent and supplement calcium deficiency. It also helps to prevent growth deficiencies of bones and teeth and rickets. It is also used to supplement vitamin D during periods when it is needed, such as during pregnancy, lactation, growth periods, and old age.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults aged 8 years and older take 2 capsules once a day.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis, or kidney disease. Additionally, individuals with an allergy to this medication or its ingredients, infants under 12 months old, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal failure should not take this medication. During treatment with this medication, it is advised not to take other medications concurrently, such as phosphates, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, and antacids. Patients receiving treatment from a doctor, children who are exposed to a lot of sunlight, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, breastfeeding mothers, premature infants and young children, patients with heart or circulatory dysfunction, those with kidney disorders, patients with hypoproteinemia, patients taking cardiac glycosides, and those with a history of kidney stones should consult a specialist before using this medication. This medication contains a dye called Yellow No. 5, so those allergic to this component should use it with caution. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, low blood pressure, facial flushing, irregular heartbeat, skin rashes or red spots, cardiac arrest, or central nervous system function deterioration appear during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a specialist. Overdosage may cause gastrointestinal symptoms, hypernatremia, heart failure, edema, etc., and long-term use may lead to hypercalcemia or stone formation, so caution is necessary. Taking this medication with an aldosterone antagonist or triamterene may increase the risk of hyperkalemia, so caution is advised. It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and method of administration, and it is best to avoid consuming tea that contains tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before or after taking the medication. When administering to children, adult supervision is required. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place, avoiding direct sunlight. It is also important not to transfer it to another container to maintain its quality.
