This medication is used for conditions where sputum discharge is difficult, such as acute and chronic bronchitis, asthma, laryngitis, sinusitis, and cystic fibrosis.

How to take

Adult dose

Acute diseases: Take 200 mg once, three times a day, with a small amount of water before meals. Chronic diseases: Take 200 mg once, twice a day, with a small amount of water before meals.

Child dose

Acute diseases (6 to 14 years): Take 200 mg once, twice a day, with a small amount of water before meals. Chronic diseases (6 to 14 years): Take 100 mg once, three times a day, with a small amount of water before meals.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals allergic to this drug or its constituents. Patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum and children under 2 years old should avoid this medication. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication and should use it only when absolutely necessary. Nursing women should also be cautious as it is unclear whether this drug is secreted in breast milk. If gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea, or allergic symptoms such as hives, itching, rash, headache, tinnitus, or bronchospasm occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Especially if breathing difficulties arise, seek professional assistance promptly. When taking this medicine with oral antibiotics, the effectiveness of the antibiotics may be reduced, so it is advisable to take them at least 2 hours apart. Avoid mixing other medications with the solution of this drug, and keep the medication out of reach of children. Additionally, medications should be stored in their original containers to prevent misuse or degradation in quality. For inhalation forms of this drug, patients with asthma or poor respiratory function should consult a doctor before use. Elderly patients and children should be cautious as the safety of this drug has not been sufficiently established.
