Relief of symptoms such as allergic rhinitis and chronic urticaria
This medicine alleviates the symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and reduces the symptoms of chronic idiopathic urticaria. Additionally, it helps relieve symptoms when used with hydrocortisone topical agents for dermatitis and eczema accompanied by itching. It is used to improve various allergy-related symptoms.
For adults and children over 6 years, administer 1 tablet (5mg of Levocetirizine Hydrochloride) once daily regardless of meals. For patients with renal impairment, dosage should be adjusted based on kidney function (creatinine clearance). Mild impairment (50 ≤ CLCR < 80): 1 tablet once daily. Moderate impairment (30 ≤ CLCR < 50): 1 tablet every other day. Severe impairment (10 ≤ CLCR < 30): 1 tablet every 3 days.
For children over 6 years, administer 1 tablet (5mg of Levocetirizine Hydrochloride) once daily regardless of meals.
This medication should not be taken by individuals who are hypersensitive to certain components or are allergic to hydroxyzine or piperazine derivatives. Patients with severely impaired kidney function or undergoing dialysis should avoid using this medication. Pregnant women, women who might become pregnant, and breastfeeding women should not take this medication. Do not administer to children under 1 year of age, and children under 6 years should take this medication in liquid form instead of tablets. Patients with lactose intolerance or a genetic deficiency of lactose-degrading enzymes should avoid this medication due to the lactose contained in it. Patients with reduced kidney or liver function, and elderly individuals, should be cautious as they may have increased blood concentrations of this medication. This medication may cause neurological symptoms such as drowsiness, headaches, and dizziness, as well as gastrointestinal symptoms like indigestion or nausea. Rarely, abnormal heart rhythms, blood-related adverse reactions, skin rashes, and eye symptoms have been reported. Drowsiness or fatigue may occur after taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Taking this medication along with alcohol or central nervous system depressants may intensify drowsiness or decreased concentration, so it is advisable to avoid concurrent use. Patients with urinary retention issues may experience exacerbation of symptoms while taking this medication. This medication may have potential interactions with other drugs, so consultation with a healthcare provider is recommended, especially if taking alcohol, certain antibiotics, or other medications. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication, as sufficient safety studies have not yet been conducted. Children, especially infants under 1 year, should not be administered this medication, as there is limited experience with its use in this population, and children under 6 years should take it in liquid form. Elderly patients should start with a lower dose and carefully monitor their condition, as reduced kidney function may prolong the duration of the medication in the body. It is advisable to discontinue this medication a few days prior to specific tests such as allergy skin tests. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as drowsiness or agitation may occur, and no specific antidote exists, so treatment should be symptomatic. This medication is not removed by blood dialysis, so caution is necessary in cases of overdose.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container that protects from light, and it is best kept at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius. Storing it this way will help maintain its efficacy for a long time.
