Treatment of dermatophyte infections (such as tinea pedis, tinea corporis) and candidiasis
This medication is used to treat skin fungal infections such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by dermatophytes. It is also effective against infections caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (Malassezia furfur), which leads to tinea versicolor. Additionally, it is utilized for the treatment of cutaneous candidiasis, relieving the symptoms of that condition. This medicine helps improve various skin fungal infections.
Apply to the affected area (site of disease) once or twice a day. The treatment duration depends on the condition as follows: 1. Tinea pedis: once daily for 1 week Interdigital tinea pedis: twice daily for 1 week Plantar tinea pedis: twice daily for 2 weeks 2. Tinea corporis, tinea cruris: 1 to 2 weeks 3. Cutaneous candidiasis: 1 to 2 weeks 4. Tinea versicolor: 2 weeks If clinical symptoms do not improve after the treatment period, reassessment is needed.
This medication may cause allergic reactions in some individuals, and those with hypersensitivity to this drug or its components, or a history of such experiences, should not use it. It is also advisable for pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding women to refrain from using this medication. It is recommended not to use this drug in children. This medication contains propylene glycol, so patients with a history of allergic reactions to this ingredient should use it cautiously. If a rash, itching, redness, hives, irritation, skin peeling, crusting at the lesion site, or unusual pain occurs while using this product, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. It is important not to use occlusive dressings or wrapping methods without a doctor's instruction while using this medication. If symptoms do not improve despite using this drug, tests should be conducted to check for other possible infections, and if necessary, alternative treatments should be pursued. In case of Candida infections, it is advisable to avoid the use of acidic soaps. When used on intact skin, systemic side effects are rare; however, caution should be observed when applying on wounds, large areas, or in infants as systemic effects may occur. In the event of accidental ingestion of this product, activated charcoal should be used to eliminate the active substance, and appropriate treatment should be sought if necessary. This medication is for external use only and should be kept away from the eyes. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water as it may irritate or worsen infection. It is not advisable to apply to nails, scalp, around the mouth, or genital areas. There have been cases showing weak phototoxicity in animal studies, so caution is needed when exposed to sunlight. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, and it is safe to keep it in its original container with the cap tightly closed.
