This medication is used to treat joint disorders such as knee osteoarthritis and shoulder periarthritis. It helps reduce inflammation and pain in the joints, improving the patient's mobility and daily life.

How it is given

Adult administration

Generally, for adult patients, administer 1 vial once a week for 3 consecutive weeks into the knee joint or shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or bicipital tendon sheath), but the frequency of administration should be adjusted according to the symptoms.

Precautions

This medication contains sodium hyaluronate and is administered as an injection into the joint. Firstly, it should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to its components. Additionally, it should be used with caution in patients who are allergic to other medications, have liver function disorders, or have skin conditions or infections at the injection site. Rarely, after administration, severe allergic reactions such as shock may occur, so it is essential to closely monitor the patient's condition after administration, and if any abnormal symptoms arise, discontinue the treatment immediately and seek appropriate care. Other possible allergic reactions include facial or periorbital swelling, rashes, itching, and temporary pain, swelling, redness, or warmth at the injection site. Occasionally, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or fever may also occur, necessitating caution. In cases of severe joint inflammation, it is advisable to reduce the inflammation first before using this medication. Care should also be taken to stabilize the joint area after administration and ensure that the medication does not leak outside the joint. Strict aseptic conditions must be maintained during injection, and if symptoms do not improve, treatment should be limited to three doses and then stopped. If there is excessive joint fluid, a procedure to aspirate it may be necessary. This medication is strictly prohibited for intravenous injection and is not suitable for ocular use. A syringe needle of approximately 22-23 gauge is preferable, and caution is required as the use of sterilizing disinfectants may cause precipitation. The safety of this medication during pregnancy or in women who may become pregnant is not well established, so if the medication must be used, the benefits and risks should be carefully considered. Additionally, this medication can be passed through breast milk, so it is advisable to avoid breastfeeding during treatment. Its safety has not been established in children, so it should only be used with caution when necessary. Older adults may have decreased bodily functions, requiring greater caution during administration.
