For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer: 10 mg is administered orally once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg once daily depending on symptoms. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: 10 mg or 20 mg is taken orally once daily for 4-8 weeks, and if not treated, additional doses of 10 mg or 20 mg can be taken orally twice a day for an additional 8 weeks.

This medication treats ulcers in the stomach and duodenum, alleviates symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, and is also used for long-term maintenance therapy. Additionally, it can increase the therapeutic effect when taken with antibiotics for gastrointestinal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori, and is helpful in treating diseases like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome related to excess gastric acid secretion. Overall, it is used to improve and treat symptoms related to gastric diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer: 10 mg is administered orally once daily, which may be increased to 20 mg once daily depending on symptoms. Precautions

Serious side effects

  • Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness → severe allergic reaction.

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attack, breathing problems accompanied by cough and fever → respiratory issues.
  • Yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme fatigue → liver abnormalities (jaundice).

Mild side effects

Allergic reactions: rash, hives, itching. Blood system disorders: decreased red blood cells, decreased white blood cells, increased white blood cells, increased eosinophils, increased neutrophils, decreased lymphocytes, anemia, petechiae, lymphadenopathy, hypochromic anemia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, decreased platelets, hemolytic anemia. Liver abnormalities: increased ALT, AST, ALP, γ-GTP, LDH, total bilirubin. Cardiovascular abnormalities: hypertension, myocardial infarction, abnormal electrocardiogram, migraine.
