Adult administration

Precautions

This medication may have glass fragments when cutting the injection container, so utmost caution should be taken, especially when used for children or the elderly. This medication should not be administered to patients with allergic reactions, aldosteronism, muscle lesions, or hypokalemia. Administering it to such patients may worsen their condition. Elderly patients are at higher risk for hypokalemia and should use it more cautiously. Additionally, this medication contains sodium bisulfite, which may cause allergic reactions or asthma attacks, so care is needed. During administration, serious allergic reactions such as decreased blood pressure, loss of consciousness, and respiratory distress may occur, thus the patient should be closely monitored, and if any abnormal symptoms appear, administration should be immediately stopped and appropriate treatment should be provided. Long-term or high-dose use may cause symptoms such as hypokalemia, increased blood pressure, and edema, so potassium levels in the blood should be periodically checked and the condition should be closely monitored. When administering this drug, shock symptoms may arise, so sufficient medical history should be gathered in advance, and emergency measures should be prepared, and after administration, the patient should be monitored to ensure they remain in a stable condition. When used with other medications containing licorice, the risk of side effects associated with hypokalemia may be exacerbated, so concurrent use should be avoided or done with caution. Using with certain diuretics may increase potassium excretion, leading to hypokalemia, so potassium levels in the blood should be frequently checked and caution should be taken. The safety of this medication has not been established in women during pregnancy or those who might become pregnant, so it should only be used when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks. In elderly patients, there is a high risk of side effects such as hypokalemia, so their condition should be closely monitored and administered cautiously. When administered intravenously, vessel pain may occur, so it should be injected slowly if possible, and the patient's condition should be well observed. This medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
