Patients with anemia or severe liver disease, elderly individuals, and frail patients should use this drug with caution, and those sensitive to skin reactions should be especially careful. Temporary pallor, redness, swelling, mild initial burning, itching, numbness, skin irritation, and corneal irritation may occur at the application site, and rarely, severe allergic reactions or anaphylactic shock may develop. Avoid applying near the eyes to prevent corneal irritation, and if contact occurs, wash immediately with clean water. This drug can also be toxic to the ear and should not be used in the ear canal. Overuse may lead to serious side effects like methemoglobinemia, which requires professional treatment. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult a doctor before use to carefully weigh the benefits and risks. In pediatric patients, especially infants under 3 months, it should be used restrictively, and it is safer not to apply it to the genital mucosa. The risk of side effects may increase when this drug is used with certain other medications, so patients should inform healthcare providers of any medications they are taking.
