How to take

Adult dose

As Sildenafil, take the recommended dose of 25 to 50 mg orally about 1 hour before sexual activity once a day. Depending on circumstances, it may also be taken 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dose may be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerance. In specific patient groups (aged 65 years or older, liver failure, severe kidney failure, concomitant use of CYP3A4 inhibitors, etc.), the initial dose should be adjusted to 25 mg.

Precautions

This medication can cause excessively low blood pressure if used with nitrates or NO donors, so these should not be taken before or during treatment with this drug. Patients with heart or vascular issues should consult a doctor before using this medication, and it is safer not to use it if the heart condition is unstable. As sexual activity itself can put stress on the heart, patients with cardiovascular disease should carefully assess their health status before taking this medication. This medication can temporarily lower blood pressure by dilating blood vessels, so patients with cardiovascular conditions should exercise particular caution. Patients who have experienced serious cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, stroke, or myocardial infarction within the last 6 months should not take this medication. Rarely, an erection lasting more than 4 hours may occur; if this symptom appears, immediate medical attention should be sought. Patients who have difficulty controlling blood pressure or certain eye conditions should also use this medication with caution. When used in combination with certain antiviral drugs, the blood concentration of this medication may significantly increase, necessitating dose adjustment. Those allergic to this medication or regularly taking nitrate medications should not use it. Pregnant women or those under 18 years of age should not use this medication. Elderly patients may have increased concentrations of this medication; therefore, it is advisable to start with a lower dose initially. Possible side effects of this medication include headaches, flushing, dyspepsia, dizziness, visual abnormalities, etc. If severe adverse symptoms occur, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. There may be dizziness or visual disturbances while driving or operating machinery due to this medication, hence caution is advised. It is safest not to use this medication in conjunction with other erectile dysfunction treatments, and since it may interact with other drugs, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medications. In cases of overdose, appropriate treatment is required depending on symptoms; renal dialysis cannot remove this medication. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children, and it is advisable not to transfer it to another container.
