Patients with viral diseases such as infectious mononucleosis or lymphocytic leukemia may be at a higher risk of developing rashes, so caution is required. Patients with liver function issues should be careful when using this medication, as it may cause recurrence of liver dysfunction. Patients who are allergic or have weak digestive function should also be cautious. Side effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain may occur during use; in severe cases, serious colitis such as pseudomembranous colitis may manifest, so if any symptoms occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and a physician should be consulted. There may be signs of liver function abnormalities; therefore, for long-term use, regular liver function tests should be conducted, and if allergic symptoms such as skin rashes or respiratory distress occur, medication should be discontinued immediately. This medication can also affect the blood and may rarely result in decreased blood cell counts or tendency for bleeding, so if any unusual symptoms occur, it should be discussed with healthcare professionals. Pregnant women or women who might become pregnant should particularly avoid taking this medication during the first three months, and nursing mothers should be cautious as their babies may experience side effects such as diarrhea or skin rashes. It is recommended to use this medication only for children over 12 years or weighing more than 40 kg, and elderly patients require careful monitoring for potential side effects due to decreased bodily functions.
