Relief of comedonal acne and photodamage (fine wrinkles, hyperpigmentation)
This medication is primarily used for the treatment of comedonal acne, which is common acne. It also helps alleviate signs of photodamage such as fine wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and rough skin. This contributes to the overall improvement of skin health and appearance, allowing patients to reduce skin concerns and maintain healthier skin.
Apply an appropriate amount once daily at bedtime or twice a day to the affected area. For the treatment of sensitive skin, apply once a day or every other day. Adjust the dosage as appropriate based on symptoms.
This medication is a topical treatment and should not be used by certain patients. Individuals who are allergic to this medication or its components, or those with hypersensitivity, should not use it. Individuals with a history of skin cancer or family history should avoid this medication as it may increase sensitivity to sunlight and worsen skin damage. This medication should not be applied to areas with eczema, wounds, or abrasions. Avoid use if sunburn is present until it is fully healed. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant and nursing women should not use this medication. Individuals with acute dermatitis or rosacea should also refrain from using this medication. Caution is required for individuals with sensitive skin or a history of allergies when using this medication. Use it cautiously on sensitive areas like around the mouth or neck. This medication contains propylene glycol, and those with allergies to this component should be careful. Skin irritation symptoms such as redness, dryness, stinging, and itching may commonly occur during use, and these symptoms can gradually improve over time. If severe irritation or persistent skin problems occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor or pharmacist. When using this medication, sensitivity to sunlight increases, making the skin more susceptible to damage when exposed to sunlight, so sunscreen should be used, and direct sunlight should be avoided. Be cautious as environmental factors like wind, cold, and low humidity can severely irritate the skin. At the beginning of treatment, changes such as redness or peeling may occur, which may be a sign of the medication's effect. If irritation is severe, it is advisable to reduce the frequency of use or temporarily discontinue it. There is a risk of fire when using this medication, so avoid smoking and be careful to prevent the medication from contacting clothing or bedding. Caution should be exercised when using other acne treatments, strong cleansers, or products with a high alcohol content, as these may exacerbate skin irritation. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should confirm their pregnancy status before using this medication, and nursing mothers should discontinue either breastfeeding or using the medication. Children under 12 years of age should not use this medication as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Excessive use can cause severe irritation and discomfort, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed amount and frequency. Avoid contact with mucous membranes such as eyes, nose, and mouth, and if it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water immediately. Clean the application area and avoid over-washing, as well as scrubbing the skin. Store this medication out of the reach of children.
