Relief of gastrointestinal symptoms due to diarrhea and gas adsorption, emergency detoxification effect as an adsorption agent.
This medication helps alleviate symptoms by adsorbing gas caused by abnormal fermentation occurring in the digestive tract or diarrhea. It is also used as an emergency detoxification agent in cases of poisoning by drugs or chemicals. However, it is ineffective in adsorbing cyanide, and its effectiveness is limited for alcohol, greasy hydrocarbons, lithium salts, corrosive sodium chlorides, and certain heavy metals. Thus, this medication assists in rapid detoxification in specific poisoning situations and improves uncomfortable symptoms in the digestive tract.
The recommended dosage of medicinal carbon is 2 to 20 grams per day, divided into several doses. Medicinal carbon should be administered within 30 minutes of ingestion of the toxic substance in acute poisoning cases. (If the amount of the ingested toxic substance is known, the recommended dosage of medicinal carbon is usually 5-10 times the amount of the ingested toxic substance.) Adjustments should be made according to a doctor's instructions based on age and symptoms.
This medicine should not be used if there are injuries to the esophagus or if corrosive substances have been ingested. Diabetic patients should not use this medication without a doctor's diagnosis and prescription. Taking this medication may lead to indigestion symptoms. Additionally, prolonged use may interfere with the absorption of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, leading to nutritional imbalance. When using this medication as an oral detoxification agent, it is preferable not to use an emetic syrup simultaneously with this medication. It is safer to first use an emetic syrup and then take this medication after vomiting has completely occurred. This medication should be administered following gastric lavage or gastric suction under medical supervision. It should also be noted that the efficacy of other medications may be diminished if taken within 2 hours after this medication. Taking this medication with ice cream or sorbet is not recommended as it may reduce the effectiveness of this medication. Taking this medication may cause stool to turn black, which is not a cause for concern. There is insufficient research on the safety of this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so caution is required. This medication should be kept out of reach of children and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. For quality maintenance, it is safe not to transfer it to another container.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication must be stored in an airtight container to prevent air or moisture ingress, and the storage temperature should be maintained between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature. Proper storage ensures the effectiveness and safety of the medication.
