Precautions

This drug is an antibiotic that attacks the cell walls of certain bacteria to kill them. Before using this medication, it is important to inform your healthcare provider if you have previously experienced severe allergic reactions or shock from this drug or similar medications. If you are allergic to penicillin antibiotics or have a predisposition to allergies such as asthma or rashes, caution should be exercised. Patients with very poor kidney function, those who have difficulty taking it orally, elderly patients, or patients in poor general condition may experience symptoms of vitamin K deficiency while using this medication, requiring careful monitoring. Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis, should consult medical personnel immediately if symptoms such as abdominal pain or diarrhea arise after administration. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions, skin rashes, blood abnormalities, liver and kidney function problems, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory problems, central nervous system symptoms, among other side effects, so if any unusual symptoms occur, the treatment should be stopped immediately, and appropriate care should be sought. Prolonged or excessive use of this medication can lead to antibiotic resistance, so it is important to perform susceptibility testing on the causative organisms of the infection and administer it only for the necessary duration. When used in combination with other medications, there may be interactions, especially if taken with drugs that affect the kidneys, anticoagulants, or oral contraceptives; you should inform your healthcare provider. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and caution should also be exercised during breastfeeding. It is advisable to avoid using this drug in neonates under one month of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly individuals may experience side effects more easily due to a decline in physical function; therefore, careful observation while adjusting dosage and dosing intervals is necessary. When using this medication, it can affect certain test results during clinical assessments, so careful interpretation of the results is required.
