Treatment of dermatophyte infections (tinea pedis, tinea corporis) and tinea versicolor, as well as cutaneous candidiasis
This medication is used to treat dermatophyte infections of the skin such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, and tinea corporis caused by fungi like Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. It is also effective against infections caused by Pityrosporum orbiculare (Malassezia furfur), which leads to tinea versicolor and cutaneous candidiasis. It is widely used for the treatment of major dermatophyte infections and helps improve the symptoms in patients.
Apply to the affected area (diseased area) once or twice a day. For tinea pedis, it may be applied once or twice a day depending on the case; the treatment duration varies from one week to two weeks. For tinea corporis, tinea cruris, cutaneous candidiasis, and tinea versicolor, it should be applied for one to two weeks.
This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this medication or have previously experienced hypersensitivity to it. It is also advised that pregnant women, women who may become pregnant, or nursing mothers should not use this product. Additionally, this medication should not be used in children. If you experience a rash or allergic reaction while using this medication, you should immediately stop using it and consult a doctor or pharmacist. If severe irritation occurs at the application site or symptoms worsen, you should also consult a professional immediately. If symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, pain, or inflammation appear, you should stop using this medication and inform a professional. When using this medication, it is advisable not to use a sealed bandage or wrapping method without a doctor's instruction. If this medication does not have an effect, you should get tested for other infections caused by different fungi and apply alternative treatment methods. In cases where candidal infection is suspected, it is advisable to avoid the use of alkaline soap. When applied to normal skin, the absorption of the drug is minimal, and systemic side effects are rarely seen. However, if applied to wounds, large areas, or when used in infants, systemic side effects may occur, so caution is advised. If this medication is accidentally ingested, activated charcoal should be used to remove the active ingredient, and symptomatic treatment should be administered as needed. This medication is an external topical treatment and should not be applied to the eyes or mucous membranes. If it gets into the eyes, it may cause irritation, so it should be rinsed immediately with plenty of water, as there is a rare possibility of exacerbating ocular infections. It is also safest not to apply it to the nails, scalp, around the mouth, or genital areas. Slight photosensitivity (skin reactions due to light) has been reported in animal studies, so caution against exposure to sunlight is recommended. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in its original container, sealed, to maintain the quality and safe use of the medication.
