This medication is effective in relieving constipation and is used for cleansing the bowel prior to surgical procedures, X-ray examinations, and endoscopic examinations.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

1 bottle (118 mL) once a day

Children's dosage

Children aged 3 years and older: 1/2 bottle (59 mL) once a day

Precautions

This medication should not be used without a doctor's instruction in cases of kidney disease or if following a sodium-restricted diet. Children under 3 years of age, patients with congenital megacolon or congestive heart failure, patients with severe renal impairment, patients with gastrointestinal obstruction or bowel obstruction, perforation, anal stenosis, and individuals who are allergic to this medication or its components should not take this medication. Individuals with renal impairment or those experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits lasting more than 2 weeks, pregnant women or women who may become pregnant, nursing mothers, children aged 3 to 12 years, the elderly, and those taking other medications should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, lower abdominal pain, anal discomfort, rectal pain, rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate occur during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a medical professional. Overdosing this medication can cause abnormal levels of calcium, phosphate, and sodium in the blood, and serious side effects such as dehydration or acidosis may occur. To prevent or manage such electrolyte imbalances, appropriate hydration and electrolyte replenishment are necessary, and prompt action should be taken according to medical advice. Additionally, this medication should not be taken continuously for more than one week without a doctor's instruction.
