This medication is used for infections caused by the herpes simplex virus, particularly for initial and recurrent genital herpes and cold sores.

How to apply

Adult use

This medication should be applied to the affected area five times a day at approximately four-hour intervals. Treatment should be continued for five days, and if the treatment is not successful after five days, it may be used for an additional five days.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are hypersensitive to its components or have previously experienced allergic reactions. Additionally, it is safest not to administer this drug to nursing women and children. Individuals with weakened immune systems, such as AIDS patients or those who have undergone bone marrow transplants, should use this drug with extra caution. This medication contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, which requires caution for those who are allergic or sensitive to it.
